I am so thankful we found Kevin!
He taught my son throughout Year 12-13 and guided him through the A level Maths course. He gave him stellar tuition, guidance and confidence. My son moved from a C/D prediction to him obtaining a secure A* grade this summer.

I reached out to Kevin last year as I did not feel confident that I would achieve the grade I needed in maths for my University course, and I honestly could not have predicted how Kevin would make maths seem so clear and simple.
Kevin answered every problem I had with concise and thoughtful feedback and would not leave until he was 100% certain that I understood everything.

I finished AS maths with a low B and was not intending to carry it on to A2. However, I decided to do it eventually, and for the A2 year looked for a tutor, finding Kevin. He was absolutely great, and within weeks we had gone over all my core maths from AS and mastered it. I had Kevin once a week for most of the year then, and he made everything I had previously found complicated and hard very clear and easy. He gave many little tips to make things easier and also has a huge amount of very very well made sheets and booklets to hand. Not only is he great at explaining maths, but he is also an extremely friendly and down to earth person! I would totally recommend him to anyone. Kevin is absolutely fantastic. I couldn`t have wished for a better tutor!! I came out of AS with a C grade and feeling pretty down about it. My school weren`t very positive in feedback suggesting I should accept the C/B borderline grade. Through this site I found Kevin and honestly, Kevin was brilliant. From fitting his timetable around my exams so that we always got a session when I needed it, to being well prepared with plenty of work to do across all the boards. He didn`t limit it to the board I was sitting but knew which were the harder and more suitable questions across all boards and so gave me a broader range than the textbook from school. He obviously knew the syllabus well but a major help were some of the slick little tricks to help with different areas of my maths. Also, it wasn`t just an hour session each week, but a want to do better. Kevin increased my ambition and drive and I found myself more prepared to do work and spend extra time and effort to impress. Overall, Kevin was an excellent tutor devoting time and effort to help me improve my maths skills. He was also great at improving my confidence and helped prepare me for the maths exam more than a school teacher could. Just to prove the point, I recently received my A2 and AS resit results. I have gone from an average C grade to a couple marks short of an A* with high 90s in 3 exams!! I am extremely happy with what Kevin has done for me and would recommend him to anyone! In January 2015 I took it upon myself to get a maths tutor as I was struggling massively with AS level maths, due to the complexities of the subject , I approached kevin with this query although it was late in my school year and exams were fast approaching. Kevin was more than happy to help me with this and week by week I was improving in both my skills and confidence in the different topics. His explanatory way of teaching not only helped me to get full marks in questions but also understand the purpose of each function which benefitted me hugely as I learn very much based on meaning. Due to this my confidence rose and I went from barely achieving an E Grade in mocks to comfortable A`s in past papers. If it wasn`t for Kevin`s enthusiasm to help me achieve my goals then I would most definitely not have been carrying on the subject to A2. However I now feel confident that I can continue the subject which wouldn`t have been the case without Kevin`s support.

He takes his GCSEs this year, and with Kevin’s help has moved up 2 Maths sets and improved his predicted grades from a low C (4) to a strong A grade equivalent (7). We have been thoroughly impressed by Kevin’s professionalism, but more importantly how well he gets on with our son, making complex topics manageable through encouragement, repetition and clear unfussy explanations. My son was struggling with his AS level maths course having failed to keep up with the pace of new topics in the Autumn term of 2012. We were fortunate enough to get Kevin to help him and there was a complete transformation of his confidence and approach to maths. Before Kevin’s intervention my son had achieved U, D and E grades in various mock exams but in test papers before the actual exams, he was getting results right at the top of the grade spectrum. I cannot recommend Kevin too highly for his technical expertise in the subject or for his organised and sympathetic teaching approach which was essential in my son’s case. Luke has been tutoring my daughter for A level maths once a week since early on in year 12 (September 2019), when we realised she would really benefit from some one to one tuition which is not available in school. She loves the subject, but we felt she would really benefit from a tutor working truly at her pace. From the start, Luke undoubtedly improved my daughter’s confidence in the subject, with his patient and clear manner and she has definitely seen her grades improve, to the delight of her school maths teacher. He will thoroughly discuss a mathematical principle, then double check my daughter’s understanding before moving on to the next point.
I would without hesitation highly recommend Luke; I am sure she would not feel as comfortable and confident with this A level subject, nor enjoy it as much, if it were not for Luke’s weekly support.
