Meet Kevin
Founder of KHMaths
After gaining 11 A grades at GCSE (before the days of A*), 4 A grades at A level (Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry) and winning both of my school’s mathematics prizes, I went on to study Mathematics at uni. After that, I worked as both an Accountant and an Actuary before becoming a maths tutor.
One of my biggest strengths has always been the ability to break things down, understand them from the building blocks up, and then present them in a simple and easily digestible manner. I am also patient and a good listener, with the ability to understand the way someone else thinks about а problem. I think it’s these qualities, along with my passion for maths, that combined to make maths tutoring my niche.
I have been tutoring Maths full time since 2012, teaching the GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level syllabuses many times each year, so now know every corner of the syllabuses, as well as the individual requirements and question styles for all the main exam boards Edexcel, AQA, OCR, OCR MEI and Cambridge.
Tutoring over 10,000 hours and 100s of students on a one to one basis has also given me an invaluable level of experience in what’s needed to help students with differing starting levels and natural abilities achieve their goals.
My students have come from many different schools too, so I’ve been exposed to the teaching techniques many of the best in-school maths teachers in the country; Over the years, I’ve been able to adapt and incorporate them into my own teaching, collating an armoury of the best tips and tricks to help with each bit of the syllabus.
